This post is for our school day for Thursday May 20th. 

Friday will be Day 2 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so you will be doing Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Phys. Ed. You will be going to the Google classrooms for each subject to get your work that I have posted.

Today will be SYNCHRONOUS learning, meaning that  we will be live for most of the day except for 25 minutes each block for independent work and except for recess and lunch. 

As usual the school day begins at 9:10am.

Language:

-Reading:

-Choose a seed idea from reading non-fiction and write response to that text, teaching your reader about your topic. Follow the instructions on the Google Classroom. Due next reading day (Tuesday).

-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!

-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class.

-Writing:

-Follow the instructions of the comment I made on the the most recent post from the Writing Google Classroom. You are to Draw the "sounds"of the listed words. Then you are to write a list of words that match the texture of the three sounds I listed in the comment. Then you are to write one or two poems using as many tools as you can from the "MEANING" and "MUSIC" tool boxes and identify the "tools" you  used.

-Media Literacy:

-Media Literacy task now complete. 

Math:

-Grade 5: Complete the Relating Length Units Action Task and Your Turn questions on the Math Google Classroom. Remember to always read through the Google Classroom post!

-Grade 6: Complete the Measuring Mass and Capacity Action Task and Your Turn questions on the Math Google Classroom. Remember to always read through the Google Classroom Post!

Science:

-Grade 5: Conservation of Energy Inquiry Booklet now complete. Now due.

-Grade 6: Science Electricity games now due.....UNLESS you're still waiting for supplies to arrive from the store.

Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Complete the "First Nations at a Glance" organizers (the map on it). Due on Friday.

-Grade 6: Complete Task #1 for Canada's Interactions with the Global Community. Due on Friday.

Health:

-Grade 5's: Presentations now complete. 

-Grade 6's: Complete the "Skim and Scan" attachment. Read the Action prompts on the Health Google Classroom. We will play "Cannabis Jeopardy" next time.

Visual Arts:

-Currently in Dance unit.

Drama/Dance:

-We have now began our Dance Unit. In lesson #1 we reflected on how dance has evolved over time in western culture. We will further explore dance in other cultures as we progress through the unit.
