This post is for our school day for Monday May 25th. 

Wednesday be Day 4 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so you will be doing Literacy, Math, Visual Arts, and French. You will be going to the Google classrooms for each subject to get your work that I have posted.

Today will be SYNCHRONOUS learning, meaning that  we will be live for most of the day except for 25 minutes each block for independent work and except for recess and lunch. 

As usual the school day begins at 9:10am.

Language:

-Reading:

-Choose a seed idea from reading non-fiction and write response to that text, teaching your reader about your topic using a particular lens. Follow the instructions on the Google Classroom. Due next reading day (Thursday May 27th).

-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!

-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class.

-Writing:

-Pick a poem to publish from your portfolio (or you can write a new one to develop further). Remember to use as many tools as you can from the "MEANING" and "MUSIC" tool boxes and identify the "tools" you  used. Success Criteria is on the Google Classroom. This is due for submitting on Wednesday May 26th.

-Media Literacy:

-Media Literacy task now complete. 

Math:

-Grade 5: Complete the Selecting a Unit of Mass or Capacity Action Task and Your Turn questions on the Math Google Classroom. Remember to always read through the Google Classroom post!

-Grade 6: Complete the Relating Metric Units Action Task and Your Turn questions on the Math Google Classroom. Remember to always read through the Google Classroom Post!

Science:

-Grade 5: Conservation of Energy Inquiry Booklet now complete. Now due.

-Grade 6: Science Electricity games now due.....UNLESS you're still waiting for supplies to arrive from the store.

Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Complete the "First Nations Travel and Trade Routes" work from Friday.

-Grade 6: Complete Task #2 for Canada's Interactions with the Global Community. Due on Thursday.

Health:

-Grade 5's: Finish choice board by next health class - Due Tuesday June 1st. 

-Grade 6's: Complete the exit card from last week. Research one community agency and complete the Student Resource 3: Community Helper Matching Exercise by next health class on Tuesday June 1st.

Visual Arts:

-Currently in Dance unit.

Drama/Dance:

-We have now began our Dance Unit. In lesson #1 we reflected on how dance has evolved over time in western culture. We will further explore dance in other cultures as we progress through the unit.
