Homework, News, and Announcements

Language:


-***Complete orange shirt template decoration and poem.***

-Reading:
-Answer in your reading journals the following prompt: Predict if the character will "protect" the Jews as she said she might in the book despite her fear. Use evidence and examples from the book. Also, can you make a text to self connection and imagine what you might do in a similar situation?
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-Group 1: write a personal narrative focusing on point of view and details that "ring true."
-Group 2: Compare some parts of your writing to the Narrative Writing Checklist using the "elaboration" and "craft" sections and then peer assess someone else's work to then make revisions.

-Media Literacy:
-Have now started our "All About Me" web pages. Will have more time during class to work on so no need to work on this at home yet..


Math:

-Gallery walk and congress completed today.
-"Knowledgehook" (sign up when we get the class code). 
-Here is a good site for Math support for the Nelson Math program: 


Science:
-Group #1: make sure you have completed Task 1 and 2.
-Group #2: Summarize what biodiversity is and state the importance of it.
-Group #3: Task #2 and summarize what biodiversity is and state the importance of it.  


Social Studies:
-Task #1 and oral presentations (answering EITHER question #2a or #2b will be done next Social Studies class).


Health:

-Complete Gallery Walk organizer, responding to the prompts hanging around the classroom.


Visual Arts: 
-Begin to create Consumerism/Cultural Pride collage. Will have another full Visual Arts class to work on this. Bring in flyers and/or magazines to support with this if you want to do a collage on paper instead of online.


Drama/Dance:
-Working on Improvisation unit.
