Homework, News, and Announcements



 Homework:


Language:

-Reading:
-Today's reading work was to look at your nonfiction narrative reading through one lens and to do extended research through that lens.
-Reading Response Journal Entry (for marking) by coming up with a "seed idea", then growing it into a meaningful response. Can use any of the strategies we've studied this term. -Was due TODAY.
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have AT LEAST one NARRATIVE Non-Fiction, "Just Right" book ready for every reading class.

-Writing:
-Edit and make final revisions for argument essays.
-Persuasive Argument Essays Due: Wednesday May 31st (TODAY).


Math:

-Pg. 373 #1 - 8.

-Here is a good site for Math support for the Nelson Math program:

Science:
-REMEMBER TO BRING IN YOUR MATERIALS FOR YOUR BRIDGE YOU WILL BUILD ON WEDNESDAY!!!
-Complete the planning of your design of your bridge by next class. Use the package we received in Science to do this.



Social Studies:
-Complete Jacques Cartier's Voyages Package COMPLETELY.

Music:

-Practice Ukulele and fill in Practice Logs.

ROTARY CLASSES:

Grade 5 Music (Mr. Merali)
-Have 1st two columns of the Fairy Tale sheet completed (adjectives and elements).



Grade 4 Music (Mrs. Passmore's Class)
-Currently in "O Canada and Lands Beyond" unit.
-Complete the Composition on the 5 line staff from the Melodic contour you created in class.

-Our recorder unit is coming up!

These are the APPROXIMATE levels corresponding to belts:
White =  3-

Yellow = 3- (Grade 3) /3 (Grade 4)

Orange = 3 (Grade 3) /3+ (Grade 4)

Green = 3+ (Grade 3) /4- (Grade 4)

Purple = 4 -  --> 4

Beyond Purple = 4 -->  4+
