Homework, News, and Announcements

Everyday, you can click on this link to join the google meet which will begin at 9:10am: 



Today is Day 4 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so you will be doing Literacy, Math, Visual Arts, French. 

We will be live for most of the day today except for 25 minutes each block for independent work and except for recess and lunch.

Language:


-Reading:
-Complete a reading response journal entry for using PRECISE words to describe the characters from Wild Robot. RRJ entry for making inferences/theories IS NOW OVERDUE.
-Focus questions about the book "The Wild Robot" that are posted to the reading Google Classroom. 
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class. 

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-Revise your research reports to include timelines which reflect the work we did on them today.


-Media Literacy:
-N/A.


Math:

-Grade 5: Relating Numbers Through Multiplication Action Task and Your Turn Questions to be done by Wednesday. 
-Grade 6: Order of Operations Action Task and Your Turn Questions to be done by Wednesday.

Science:
-Grade 5: Currently on our Social Studies unit.
-Grade 6: Currently on our Social Studies unit.

Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Have began Part 2 of the Democracy activity. Due date to be determined still.
-Grade 6: Began task on Residential Schools due on Thursday.


Health:
-Grade 5's: Finish and submit brochures - Due TONIGHT (TUESDAY January 19th)!!!!
-Complete first two rows of the "Student Resource 1: Persuasive Techniques" task which is posted to the Google Classroom responding to the two food/drink commercials we saw in class on Tuesday January 19th. 
-Grade 6's: Choose two guiding questions and a choice board presentation task by the next health class.


Visual Arts:
-Have began working on Graffiti Art.


Drama/Dance:
-Began working on our Protagonists and Antagonists writing in role drama.
