Homework, News, and Announcements

Everyday, you can click on this link to join the google meet which will begin at 9:10am: 



Today is Day 1 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so you will be doing Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and French. 

We will be live for most of the day today except for 25 minutes each block for independent work and except for recess and lunch.

****For Madame Caughey, you will have to access the French Google Classroom to get your work for the day.***

Language:


-Reading:
-Complete a reading response journal entry for making inferences/theories based on a character from The Wild Robot acting OUT of character!. RRJ entry for today's lesson or last day's lesson on making inferences/theories due on Wednesday January 13th.
-Focus questions about the book "The Wild Robot" that are posted to the reading Google Classroom. 
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class. 

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-We have begun doing research and taking notes for our research reports. We will then take those notes and grow ideas/theories from them.


-Media Literacy:
-N/A.


Math:

-Grade 5 and 6 action tasks to be done by Wednesday.

Science:
-Grade 5: Currently on our Social Studies unit.
-Grade 6: Currently on our Social Studies unit.

Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Part 1 of the Democracy activity.
-Grade 6: Work on Assignment B:  Presentations now ongoing.


Health:
-Grade 5's: Work on our brochures - Due Tuesday January 19th. 
-Grade 6's: Comment on the most recent posting where I assigned you each a person/group of influence.


Visual Arts:
-Have began working on Grafitti Art.


Drama/Dance:
-Began working on our Protagonists and Antagonists writing in role drama.
