Homework, News, and Announcements

Language:


-Reading:
-Write what you did and the answers to the questions when you did your "book buzz."
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-Grade 5's - Come up with 10 ideas for stories using our "generating ideas" strategies. Then choose one idea to be your "seed idea." Then take 15 minutes to write a "Flash Draft" of your story.
-Grade 6's - Choose one of your writing portfolio pieces as your seed idea and take 15 minutes to write a "Flash Draft" of your story.

-Media Literacy:
-N/A.


Math:

-Appendix A Math challenge about the truck (on the 4TH page of the PDF attachment on the Math Google Classroom - but the actual page says page "78" on it). You will have to have an understanding of the previous pages that lead up to that or the discussion we had today in class to solve the problem.

Science:
-Grade 5: Watch the "Inside Ralphie" Video and complete the Circulatory system Gizmo (see Science Google Classroom). Complete the Circulatory System package (posted to the Google Classroom) and read the instructions for the experiment and complete the experiment.
***ALSO FOR THE GRADE 5'S...IF YOU CAN PLEASE CHANGE YOUR NAMES ON EXPLORE LEARNING TO YOUR FIRST NAME (INSTEAD OF JUST FIRST INITIAL) THAT WOULD MAKE IT EASIER TO IDENTIFY YOUR QUIZ RESULTS...MY APOLOGIES FOR THE INCONVENIENCE***

Visual Arts:
-Bring in flyers/magazines, etc. that can be cut up for next Visual Arts class. We have begun work on our limited palette collage. We will continue this next week in class so no need to work on this at home.
