Homework, News, and Announcements

Homework:

Language:

-Reading:
-Think about the ending of our read-aloud novel "Hatchet" and write a Response Journal entry about your conclusions about the theme of the book and about what the book is REALLY about and the REAL "meaning" that you will take away from the book.

-Writing:
-Next day we will get a work period for writing...we will have the opportunity to research our notes and the internet for timelines where we can make cause and effect connections between the dates of events and then grow ideas from that and write a paragraph from these ideas.
-Flash Drafts of Research Report should be completed and they should not be fact-checked, and self-assessed using the Information Writing Checklist.


Math:
-Page 303 #3-5
-Here is a good site for Math support for the Nelson Math program:

Science:
-How It's Made assignment due AT THE END OF SCIENCE CLASS next day 3 (Feb 10th).


Social Studies:
-The "Town Hall Meeting" has now commenced and the rest of the Bill proposals will continue.
-The Bill Organizer outline is now due.


Music:
-Currently in "What's in a Theme?" unit.
-The "Tortoise and the Hare" storyboard musical rhythmic presentations are now complete.

ROTARY CLASSES:

Grade 5 Music (Mr. Merali)
-Ukulele work has started. 
-Practice all current songs from last music class and fill in Practice Logs after every practice time you complete.



Grade 4 Music (Mrs. Passmore's Class)
-Currently in "O Canada and Lands Beyond" unit.
-Complete the Composition on the 5 line staff from the Melodic contour you created in class.

-Our recorder unit is coming up!

White =  3-

Yellow = 3- (Grade 3) /3 (Grade 4)

Orange = 3 (Grade 3) /3+ (Grade 4)

Green = 3+ (Grade 3) /4- (Grade 4)

Purple = 4 -  --> 4
Beyond Purple = 4 -->  4+
