Homework, News, and Announcements

Language:


-Reading:
-We have begun our unit on reading Non-Fiction texts.
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class. 
-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-Find evidence for your three body paragraphs....make sure you already have your thesis and 3 bullets ready first!


-Media Literacy:
-N/A.


Math:

-Grade 5: Data Management Lesson #2 Action Task and Your Turn Questions by Monday. Multiplying by 5 quiz on Monday.
-Grade 6: Data Management Lesson #2 Action Task and Your Turn Questions by Monday. Divisibility by 4 quiz on Monday.

Science:
-Grade 5: Began work on our Properties of Matter Final Task. Choose a "How it's Made" video - Due on Monday March 8th.
Grade 6: Working on the final space task of building a model of the Solar System. Need to have all the research done by approx. Wednesday March 10th.


Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Persuasive writing piece to convince a non-voter or a reluctant voter to vote. Now due!
-Grade 6: Currently on our Science unit.


Health:
-Grade 5's: Design a commercial with a target audience for a healthy eating product. It must include advertising persuasive techniques we discussed in class as well. The storyboard plan must be done by next health class - Thursday March 11th and then we will begin filming. 
-Grade 6's: Self-Concept Exit Card due by next health class - Thursday March 11th.


Visual Arts:
-Perspective drawing - Now Due.


Drama/Dance:
-Next Drama class we will do another round of our cultural theater around-the-world analysis. We will pick another example of a theater video to analyse.
