Homework, News, and Announcements

Tuesday we are back in the classroom! It will be Day 1 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so we will be doing Literacy, Math, Science or Social Studies, and French. 

I hope everyone has a great family day weekend!

Language:


-Reading:
-Complete the Reading Response Journal Entry about using the prompts to make your theories more original, deeper, and more complex. - Now due! 
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class. 
-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-We are doing final revisions using exemplars and mentor texts and our writing checklists to self-assess our research reports to prepare for handing in. Due Friday February 19th.


-Media Literacy:
-N/A.


Math:

-Grade 5: Working on the "Evaluating Variable Expressions" slideshow activities.
-Grade 6: Working on the "Evaluating Variable Expressions" slideshow activities.

Science:
-Grade 5: COMPLETE the Chemical Changes and Chemical Properties information package and worksheets that go with it by Tuesday February 16th.. Quiz coming up sometime next week.
Grade 6: Space Task #3 work now due.


Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Complete the Rights and Responsibilities 3.3. worksheet. NOW DUE.
-Grade 6: Currently on our Science unit.


Health:
-Grade 5's: Complete the rest of the "Student Resource 1: Persuasive Techniques" task which is posted to the Google Classroom by responding to three more food/drink commercials. This is due by next health lesson which is Wednesday February 17th. 
-Grade 6's: Two guiding questions and choice board presentation task Due Feb. 24th.


Visual Arts:
-Perspective drawing - Practice the skills of using vanishing points in Perspectives Drawings and try out some rough drafts using this technique.


Drama/Dance:
-2nd round of our cultural theater around-the-world analysis. Pick another example of a theater video to analyse.
