Homework, News, and Announcements

Language:


-Reading:
-Study your reading habits using evidence from this year (Reading Response Journal, Post-it Notes, your Reading Log, etc.) and decide what type of reader you TEND to be (e.g. a visualizer, predictor, theory maker, expressive reader, fluent reader, etc). Then write a GOAL STATEMENT for what you want to work on when you next read.
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right" book ready for every reading class.

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!!!!!!:


-Writing:
-Flash Draft of an argumentative essay. Organize with Boxes and Bullets, create a thesis, then write your Flash Draft.


-Media Literacy:
-Looking at the Media and how it affects our eating choices (connected to Health unit).



Math:

-Math Quiz on 2D Geometry. Triangles was completed today.
-Here is a good site for Math support for the Nelson Math program: 


Science:
-Complete the research you are to collect for your assigned Source of Energy (e.g. Wind, Nuclear, Electrical, Coal, Natural Gas) for the "jigsaw" activity.

Social Studies:
-Come up with 5 questions about the two inventions First Nations people came up with and choose one of the questions and research the answer. Use the organizer from today's class to answer this.


Health:

-Scenario Worksheet (front AND back).


Visual Arts:
-Sketchbook due next day.
