Homework, News, and Announcements

Homework:


Language:

-Reading:
-Reading Response Journal Entry: Collect your post-it notes (or ideas written in your writing journal) and Synthesis the information (bring together) to form a BIG IDEA or theory.
-Read every night (and log your reading into your reading logs).


-Writing:
-NARRATIVE WRITING STORIES NOW COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED.



Math:
-Have survey, graph, and analysis completed and ready for Tuesday or Wednesday (Wednesday if our Electives trip goes as planned on Tuesday).
-Data Management quiz now completed. Please get signed.
-Complete two survey questions and send out the surveys to 15 students.

Science:
-Activity Sheet #1.

Social Studies:
-In one paragraph. Persuade a "reluctant" or non-voter why you feel they should vote. Include all the important reasons you can think of why they should vote on elections for the 3 levels of government (municipal, provincial, federal).
-Social Studies Jigsaw Task researching political parties at: http://polenize.org/canada 
-Still have to check for completion: the persuasive paragraph to convince a non-voter to vote.

Music:
-Currently in "What's in a Theme?" unit.
-Finish Graphic Notation and Expressive Elements section of the "Tortoise and the Hare" storyboard.  Then practice saying the words with the accompanying percussion rhythm patterns you created.

ROTARY CLASSES:

Grade 5 Music (Mr. Merali)
-Ukulele work has started. 
-Practice all current songs from last music class and fill in Practice Logs after every practice time you complete.
-First Listening Log that was modeled in class.


Grade 4 Music (Mrs. Passmore's Class)
-Currently in "O Canada and Lands Beyond" unit.

-Our recorder unit is coming up!

These are the APPROXIMATE levels corresponding to belts:
White =  3-

Yellow = 3- (Grade 3) /3 (Grade 4)

Orange = 3 (Grade 3) /3+ (Grade 4)

Green = 3+ (Grade 3) /4- (Grade 4)

Purple = 4 -  --> 4
Beyond Purple = 4 -->  4+
