Homework, News, and Announcements

    We say a massive thank you and "see you soon" to Mr. Colangelo who has completed his student teaching placement with us. We wish him all the best in the future with his career in education!

Language:

-Reading:

-Predictions and Text to self connections. Complete another reading response journal entry (use your independent reading material). From notes taken in class.
-Comparative paper of Number the Stars and a Holocaust Survivor's memoirs - Now due.
-Here is our class "Epic Reading" code: ubx3440.
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!

-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class.
-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:
-Writing:
-Worked on writing narrative stories by using "PLACES that matter" as a way to generate ideas for stories. Repeat again from last day...come up with ideas for a story, then pick one to write. Used descriptive writing as a skill in writing that story. Please see Google Classroom. 
-Cursive Letter "L".



-Media Literacy:
-Presentations ongoing.


Math:
 -Classifying Numbers Diagnostic. Classifying Numbers Lesson #4. Complete Action Task and Your Turn Questions. See Math Google Classroom. Assessment will be next Tuesday or Wednesday.

-Here are some good math resources to explore: 

-Working on the Second Biodiversity unit assignment. Due on Monday December 18th. Biodiversity assessment due on Tuesday December 19th. See Google Classroom for Review study notes.


Social Studies:
-Worked on Assignment #1 for Social Studies. Please have parents/guardians check their email to fill in the form (it may be in their spam folder as well). Put your observations on a "sticky note" on the class Jamboard. Please see Google Class Comments.


Visual Arts:
-Worked on Indigenous line art with connections to nature and connections to our personal cultural celebrations.


Health:
-Complete the prompts from the Google Classroom about factors influencing our choices for use of drugs and alcohol.


Drama/Dance:
-Dance group presentations ongoing.


FRENCH
-Practicing pronunciations for the play. Presentations begin next week. All members must have cue cards, props, and costumes.
