Homework, News, and Announcements

Homework:


Language:

-Reading:
-Reading Response Journal Entry: Pick an object in our read-aloud (Hatchet) or in your independent reading book and explain how this object is significant to the character and what it reveals to us about the character and their personality (3/4 page minimum).
-Read every night (and log your reading into your reading logs).


-Writing:
-Revise your first drafts by making sure each character in your story plays a role that helps push the BIG MEANING in your story forward (see the support on the Google classroom).
-DUE DATE FOR FINAL NARRATIVE WRITING STORIES IS WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 21ST.


Math:
-STUDY FOR MATH TEST ON MONDAY: ***Math Test Monday December 12th.***
Study material: Page 20 and 21 (Chapter Review). -Page 16 and 17 (Skills Bank)

-REMEMBER: the Patterning GIZMO was due THIS FRIDAY:

Science:
-Complete the "What is Matter" information and question sheet.

-Human Organ Systems Science test was completed (please get it signed when handed back).


Social Studies:
-In one paragraph. Persuade a "reluctant" or non-voter why you feel they should vote. Include all the important reasons you can think of why they should vote on elections for the 3 levels of government (municipal, provincial, federal).


Music:
-Currently in "What's in a Theme?" unit.
-Theme Music Presentations were completed this past Friday December 9th.

ROTARY CLASSES:

Grade 5 Music (Mr. Merali)
-Ukulele work has started. 
-Practice all current songs from last music class and fill in Practice Logs after every practice time you complete.
-First Listening Log that was modeled in class.


Grade 4 Music (Mrs. Passmore's Class)
-Currently in "O Canada and Lands Beyond" unit.

-Our recorder unit is coming up!

These are the APPROXIMATE levels corresponding to belts:
White =  3-

Yellow = 3- (Grade 3) /3 (Grade 4)

Orange = 3 (Grade 3) /3+ (Grade 4)

Green = 3+ (Grade 3) /4- (Grade 4)

Purple = 4 -  --> 4
Beyond Purple = 4 -->  4+
