Terry Fox Run/Walk-a-thon

Dear RHPS Families,

Rick Hansen Public School is pleased to be hosting a Terry Fox Run/ Walk-a-thon on Friday,October 6th at 9:30a.m. Our event will be held in aid of The Terry Fox Foundation to help raise money for cancer research.

We will be following a route of approximately 1km, starting on school grounds. The course will take us through our neighbourhood, along sidewalks. Students in older grades will be expected to complete multiple loops of the course. Teachers, parents and supervisors will be on hand throughout the course to assist students. Our Kindergarten and Primary students will be completing loops on the school property or in Ada Johnson park, adjacent to our school.

It is expected that all students will be participating. We would prefer that you pledge a child On-line by clicking here to donate. This is preferable in that it saves the foundation time and money that can go towards research and you will receive a tax receipt almost immediately. It is our hope that each student brings in a Toonie for Terry. Donations will be accepted until Wednesday,October11th. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your child’s teacher.

We are very proud to be associated with The Terry Fox Foundation and very excited at the prospect of involving our entire school community. It is our hope that, with full participation, we can help keep Terry’s dream alive.
