A happy note for this weekend as we will wish our second born, Myles, a big happy FIRST birthday on Saturday! We will make the best of his special day despite the lock down and he will be smashing a cake for sure! 

This post is for our school day for Friday June 4th. 

Monday will be Day 1 on our daily cycle and we will be following our regular schedule as we always would, so you will be doing Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and French. You will be going to the Google classrooms for each subject to get your work that I have posted.

Today will be SYNCHRONOUS learning, meaning that  we will be live for most of the day except for 25 minutes each block for independent work and except for recess and lunch. 

As usual the school day begins at 9:10am.

-Reading:

-Choose a seed idea from reading non-fiction and write response to that text, teaching your reader about your topic using a particular lens. Follow the instructions on the Google Classroom. THIS IS NOW DUE!!!

-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!

-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class.

Science:

-Grade 5: Conservation of Energy Inquiry Booklet now complete. Now due.

-Grade 6: Science Electricity games now due.....Now due.

Social Studies:
-Grade 5: Currently Working on the "Samuel De Champlain - Trading" lesson. 

-Grade 6: Complete Task #5: "Assignment #1: Canada Lends a Helping Hand"  - Due by Tuesday June 8th.

Health:

-Grade 5's: Finish choice board by next health class - WAS DUE ON Wednesday June 2nd...NOW OVERDUE. 

-Grade 6's: Complete the exit card from last week. Research one community agency and complete the Student Resource 4: Personal Safety and Injury Prevention Alpha Box and Student Resource 5: R.A.F.T. due by next health class on Wednesday June 9th.

Visual Arts:

-Currently in Dance unit.

Drama/Dance:

-Dance and Culture Research Project (and TEN SECOND dance routine). - Due Friday June 11th.
