Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our Winter Electives program, our grade 4 to 8
students will have the opportunity to participate in downhill skiing,
snowboarding, or snow tubing at Snow Valley Ski Resort this winter.
Permission forms have been sent home with your
children. Please return them to the
school before December 9, 2016.
We will need several parent volunteers to help with
supervision at Snow Valley. If you are able to assist, please email Mr.
Macris at alex.macris@yrdsb.ca. Bus
transportation, lift tickets, and rental equipment will be provided to
volunteers free of charge.
Volunteers will be working with groups of students.
As such, volunteers must have a Vulnerable Sector Check completed through
the York Region Police well in advance of the trip. A Vulnerable Sector
Check form can be picked up from our school’s office. Furthermore,
parents who volunteer to supervise skiing or snowboarding must know how to ski
or snowboard. Parents who volunteer to supervise tubing are not required
to tube.
