Homework, News, and Announcements

***Self Advocacy cards due next day 5 (Friday December 7th).


Language:


-Reading:
-Next class we will complete a RRJ entry about empathizing and then making connections and inferences.
-STUDENTS SHOULD ALWAYS BE READING AT LEAST 30 MINUTES EVERY DAY ON A REGULAR BASIS!
-ALWAYS have a "Just Right"  (grade level, appropriate, etc.) book ready for every reading class

-The following website you can now sign out books in the York Region District School Board DIGITAL LIBRARY!:


-Writing:
-"Paragraphs" chart...fill more information in the columns of the chart. 

-Media Literacy:
-Working on "All About Me" websites - now complete.



Math:

-Multiplication/Division Test was completed today.

"Prepare By":
-Going over questions we've already completed throughout the past unit on Multiplication/Division....particularly word problems.
-Go over your lesson notes for each lesson.
-Make sure you are comfortable with at LEAST one method of multiplication so that you can multiply two 2-digit numbers.
(e.g. Standard Algorithm, Arrays, Regrouping/"Jumping" method, etc.)
-Make sure you are comfortable with at LEAST one method of division so that you can divide a 4-digit number buy a 1-digit number.

Science:
-What is Matter? worksheets.


Social Studies:
-Answer the questions on the last "Stop and Think" section of the Democracy information page.  This was due today.



Health:

-Outline and rough draft for Health Brochures should be ready for next Health class.


Visual Arts:
-Practice sketching the human head shape. 


Drama/Dance:
-Working on Improvisation activities.
-Dance routines now completed and performed.

Winter Electives

THIS IS THE LAST WEEK TO REGISTER TO REGISTER FOR WINTER ELECTIVES

Our grade 4-8 students will be given the opportunity to enjoy two, fun-filled days up at Snow Valley in Barrie, Ontario - on Wednesday, January 9th and on Thursday, January 24th.  

Sign up your child for skiing, snowboarding, or tubing. Registration packages outlining all the details have been sent home with every student.
